The first of the August trips to Epynt and the Historics took centre stage. Mark Solloway took a commanding victory after a sheep ruined his 2007 hopes. In the moderns it proved to be Peter Lloyd's event after a good battle with Damian Cole and Eian Pritchard, following the demise of Melvyn Evans.

A cracking summers day saw a small piece of history as Mark Higgins, co-driven by Jessica Gwynne, recorded the first overall victory for a S2000 car in the UK, along with the first win for the MG ZR S2000. Behind a near capacity field battled away, providing great action all day.

Swansea Bay Rally

Swansea Bay Rally

After our no show in 2007 it was good to get back to the Vale of Neath. It proved to be an eventful day with Dave Weston taking victory from Marcus Dodd. The championship as a result is now a three horse race with Jon Ingram in the box seat.

With all the major championships well underway the main contenders will begin to show themselves. Let's hope it is another good season!
