Summer sun!

After a prolonged cool and wet spring the sun has finally come out and hit us. Even the usually indifferent weather on the Isle of Man only conspired to produce a wet morning, (but nothing whilst we were out watching).

With all the major championships well underway the main contenders will begin to show themselves. Let's hope it is another good season!

07 AugMikko Hirvonen to star at Rallyday 2008 Mikko Hirvonen, currently leading the 2008 World Rally Championship, will headline Rallyday on Saturday 20th September at Castle Combe Circuit in Wiltshire.

07 AugHartnoll Farm prepares to host fourth round of BCCC Huddersfield's Richard Kershaw heads to Hartnoll Farm, near Tiverton in Devon, in a bid to defend his 18-point lead in the 2008 Britpart MSA British Cross-Country Championship (BCCC).

06 AugMitsubishi enters two cars in Ulster Rally Mitsubishi Motors UK has confirmed that it has entered a second car in the forthcoming Todds Leap Ulster Rally, round four of the Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship, for Gwyndaf Evans.

06 AugMotor Racing stars to race under the stars at the 2008 Goodwood Revival The Goodwood Revival – taking place from 19-21 September – will celebrate two key events in 2008, with the 60th anniversary of motor racing at the famous Goodwood motor circuit and the 10th anniversary of the Revival meeting itself.

05 AugLatest news from Africa Race At least 200 entries are expected for the inaugural Africa Race, with 100 vehicles already registered for the event five months before it is due to start. Speaking at the UK launch of the new international rally-raid event organiser Hubert Auriol said the minimum entry requirement was sure to be met soon.

05 JulQuinton Stages Back to rallying and the BTRDA championship. With several crews pulling out in the week leading up to the event Steve Perez took a dominant victory. Behind him though the battle for the Gold Star crown was intense, with top points decided on a tie break.

25 JunPre-British F1 GP Test Now we haven't defected to circuit racing we simply took the opportunity to pop down to Silverstone to see the F1 teams conduct their last test before the British GP. Only half the drivers were there but with most putting more laps in than a GP distance, so there was plenty of action on track.

20 JunRally of the Midlands Our local event and an impressive entry for the revised, more compact event. Eian Pritchard started as car 1 and went on to take victory, with Chris Ridge calling the notes. Behind there were numerous battles with Andy Baker coming out on top of the 2WD battle.

14 JunDukeries Stages The midway point of the BTRDA championship saw the crews congregate in Mansfield. With all the major players fighting for the Gold Star championship present it was Dave Weston who took a comfortable victory, in his Focus WRC. Behind him Cole just pipped Nicholls for top points.

07 JunThe Rally Show Chatsworth House saw two non-stop days worth of action for the 2nd Rally Show. This years special guest was Marcus Gronholm and he delighted the crowds in the Focus WRC. In addition to this the BRC celebrated its 50th anniversary with a collection of former champions.
